A bench you can drive to
Several of the laboratories competing for Houston work are not in Texas at all. They are good laboratories; they are also two time zones away, which means every case is a shipment and every question is an email. Ours is a thirty-minute drive from the Energy Corridor. When a shade is wrong you can send the patient. When a margin needs a second opinion, we can come to you. That is the whole difference and we would rather you judge us on it than on a web page.
Where in Houston we already drive
Memorial, the Memorial Villages, Spring Branch, the Energy Corridor, Bellaire, West University Place and Meyerland are on our own pick-up route. Cases travel on our vehicle rather than through a carrier, which keeps a day out of the schedule at each end. For practices elsewhere inside the Loop or on the north and east sides, call the laboratory and ask — we will tell you honestly what we can commit to rather than list the whole city and hope.
What the five-day turnaround actually means
Five days for a single-unit crown means five days of laboratory work. It is not five days plus two in transit, because for most of Houston there is no transit. If you are holding a seat date, put it on the prescription and we will tell you before we start whether it is realistic rather than after.
You are talking to the ceramist
There is no service counter in the middle. The person who answers a question about your case is the person holding the porcelain brush — Mr. Ortiz, a CDT with 38 years at the bench. Ask for him by name.

Where exactly is the laboratory?
In Katy, on the west side of the Houston metro. Call the laboratory for the address and to book a time — we would rather know you are coming than have you arrive mid-bake.
Do you pick up in Houston?
Yes, on the west and southwest sides, which is where our route runs. Memorial, Bellaire, West University and the Energy Corridor are regular stops. For other parts of the city, call and ask; the honest answer may be a courier.
Can a Houston patient come in for a custom shade?
Yes, and there is no charge for it. The ceramist who will layer the case takes the shade himself, by appointment, at the bench in Katy. From most of Houston it is a manageable drive, which is the advantage of using a laboratory that is actually here.
