Neuromuscular Restorations

Bite-driven restorative work built on neuromuscular principles — restorations designed around where the jaw actually wants to be, not where the old occlusion left it.

Where the bite comes first

Some patients arrive with worn dentition, a collapsed vertical dimension or symptoms that keep coming back after perfectly good dentistry. In those cases the restoration has to follow the physiology rather than the existing bite. Mr. Ortiz trained at the Las Vegas Institute and has been building to these protocols for years.

What we make for these cases

  • Hard guards and hard/soft guards
  • Provisional work to test a new vertical dimension before it is made permanent
  • Full reconstruction in ceramics once the bite is settled
  • Diagnostic wax-ups that show the plan before the handpiece comes out

Records

Send us the bite records you take and tell us on the prescription what position you want held. If something in the records does not agree with the rest of the case, we will call you before we build rather than after.

Questions we get asked

Do you make orthotics?

Tell us what you need on the prescription under Other, or call the lab — appliance work is quoted case by case.

Can you hold a new vertical dimension through the provisional stage?

That is exactly what the PMMA stage is for. We build the provisionals to the position you record and copy them into the final ceramics.
